Conductor

Since its founding, the musical direction of the Accento Orchestra Munich has been under the control of various conductors, who create varied and exciting rehearsals through individual focuses and accents. Since October 2023, this office has been held by Torbjørn H. Arnesen.

Torbjørn is a Norwegian conductor and composer. He studied composition at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Professor Moritz Eggert and completed his bachelor's degree in composition at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Norway, where he was taught by Dániel Peter Brío, Ruben Sverre Gjertsen and Sigurd Fisher Olsen. During his studies, Torbjørn completed numerous master classes with renowned conductors and composers, including Douglas Bostock, Sascha Goetzel, Bjarte Engeset and Mark Heron as well as Gwyn Pitchard, Noriko Nakamura and Frédéric Durieux. 

In addition to his work as a conductor and composer, Torbjørn works on international projects with institutions such as the Kunst Uni Graz, the Kyoto University of Art and the Festpillene i Bergen. There he works with prominent musicians such as Sawako Fukuhara and Ermis Theodroakis.
